Tūrangi welcomes manuhiri/visitors from all over the world and stands at the gateway to Tongariro National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dramatic volcanic landscape and its deep cultural and spiritual significance to local hapū, Ngāti Hikairo ki Tongariro and iwi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa; tūpuna to whom the owners of MWYW whakapapa.
